Although we didn’t have a December meeting, it was a busy month for the ILR. Year End is special chance every year to reflect back as well as look forward to the future.

Although we didn’t have a December meeting, it was a busy month for the ILR.  Year End is special chance every year to reflect back as well as look forward to the future.

Candlelight Vigils
Our club held candlelight vigils after our October and November meetings to reflect on the people and situation in the conflict in the middle east.  The vigils were attended by members of the club as well as others who heard about the vigils.

December 9, 2023 – Indian Land Christmas Parade

Thank you to the members of the ILR who represented the club in this year’s Parade at the Middle School Campus.  The parade started at 4pm and was followed by a Tree Lighting at 5:30pm.

December 15th – “A Star – Spangled Christmas.”
Over 40 members of the club attended the Lancaster County performance “A Star Spangled Christmas,”  performed by the “Always Ready Emergency Troupe…” comprised of members from the County Emergency Medical Services (ambulance), Sheriff’s Office, Coroner’s Office, Fire & Rescue and the Lancaster City Fire Department and their families.

The Bundy Auditorium at the S.C University in Lancaster seats 400 and our group had over 40 seats.

The fun filled Comedy – Variety show remind us of our country’s history and veterans who have served. They highlighted the history of our flag, various parts of our history and some unexpected skits to wow and amaze us.

In particular, there was an unexpected performance called “Turn Around,” performed by The Troupe Ballet Dancers – ask someone who attended about this beach ball performance. There were also some portions that reflected back on music and sports of the past. It was a wonderful show and all those who attended had a good evening and hope to return next year.

December 16th – Indian Land Republican Christmas Party

Held at the Sun City Golf Course Restaurant with about 40 members and guests in attendance. It was a nice opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner and get to know each other a little better and meet new people.
